An Adventure at Mount Evans

This hike was the hardest yet, despite having less elevation to climb (only about 2,000 ft.) and less distance to travel (about 5.5 miles round-trip) than other the other 14ers we had accomplished to this date.

Luckily, we had beautiful weather, good hiking friends, and both Morsel and Tilly really seemed to enjoy the hike. Our path was lined with wildlife, gorgeous views, and a vague sense of danger (because we were having a really hard time with finding the trail).

Note: The map doesn’t show a path because it’s really hard to find it on the map, but you can get a basic idea of the route on this site. We did the Mt. Evans Ridge Trail to the Mt. Evans National Recreation Trail, starting at Summit Lake and ending, well, at the summit.
