Camping Under the Stars in Buffalo Creek
Gazing into the night sky is especially good in the Rocky Mountains. So what happens when your friend group invites you into the middle of the woods to watch the Perseid meteor shower? You load up your camping gear and head out to the middle of nowhere to spend some time quality time stargazing!
On this occasion, we drove out to Buffalo Creek, a small unincorporated community just southwest of Denver in Pike National Forest. The area has some beautiful views, despite some obvious evidence of a fairly recent forest fire. The trails in the area are well-defined, and there’s plenty to explore.
I tried to get some photos of shooting stars, but my camera lens wasn’t ideal. Maybe next time!
