Ferdinand the Coyote

We have a mangy coyote living behind our home who we see out and about every once-in-a-while. And while it’s unusual to see a coyote out during the day, animals afflicted by mange are more likely to have diurnal behaviors because they’re so itchy all the time. Poor lil guy!

Of course we have to name all of the wildlife in the neighborhood, so when we asked our friend for a suggestion, her son suggested “Ferdinand” based on his favorite children’s book/movie. Thanks for the name, Raffi!
