Flying Kites at Barr Lake

Barr Lake State Park is the oasis of Adams County. Only 20 miles from Downtown Denver, this excellent natural area has an 8.8-mile multi-use trail and lots to see. I’ve even heard that bald eagles nest there often.

On a beautiful Saturday, Chelsea, Anna, and I took a brief hike around the dog-friendly side of Barr Lake. Afterward, utilizing some recent purchases from Barr Lake’s Nature Center, we flew kites. It was pretty excellent.

If you’re ever in the area of Brighton, Colorado and need some natural experiences, take a quick hike into the Barr Lake Wildlife Refuge and maybe, juuuuust maybe, you’ll see a Bald eagle. Maybe.
