Runs With Scissors 2019
So, as some readers may know, Anna and I are a part of a local running group known as the “B Something Run Club”, so named because we meet at our local brewery, Something Brewery on Thursdays. We complete a variable distance (about 2 miles for walkers, 3.1 or more for runners) and then meet back at the brewery to hang out.
The founder of the group, Jane, is the glue that keeps us together and keeps everyone active. And sometimes, Jane likes to do events outside of our normal brewery runs. Sometimes Jane wants to run 50 kilometers, also known as an “ultra marathon”. And, of course, we want to be the best and most supportive group we can, so we volunteer for the events.
Runs With Scissors is a combination half-marathon, full marathon, and 50K. Starting at 6am and ending at 3pm, the event is an all-day run-a-palooza! About half of the attendees were local, while the other half were out of state, even coming in from as far away as Hawaii and Alaska. As I volunteered to photograph the event, I was there from dawn until mid-afternoon taking pictures of the many different runners. Below are some of my favorite pictures from the event, but the full album can be found by clicking here.
And, for the record, Jane completed her 50K in 6:35:19, which is super impressive. Congrats, Jane!
