The Bald Eagles of Barr Lake

In 1977, Barr Lake became a Colorado State Park because it was discovered to be an exceptional area for bald eagles to nest and mate. Since then, Barr Lake has seen many bald eagle fledglings grow up in the trees around its shores.

In late March, the bald eagles begin to hatch in their nests, and the migratory bird life is excellent. Below is a series of photos (of mostly bald eagles) taken around Barr Lake. Enjoy!
