The Journey Back from Wellington
After a short time hiking partially around Wellington Lake (see previous post), we decided to take the long way back home, driving exactly the opposite direction toward Cheesman Reservoir, where we met a very tame but definitely wild fox that we named “Ham”. We took a quick hike around part of the reservoir before turning back because of some ominous-looking clouds.
The trip back felt adventurous, although in retrospect we should probably have found a campsite out in the middle of nowhere and stayed another night to avoid the dogs freaking out about the 4th of July fireworks when we got home. Maybe we’ll learn one of these years.
